Minister of Defense (Saudi Arabia)
The Minister of Defense (Arabic:وزارة الدفاع) initially called as Defence; reporting name: MoD), is a Cabinet-level ministry in Saudi Arabia tasked with coordinating and supervising all major government agencies and federal departments of the government relating directly to National security and the Saudi Defense Forces.
==Former name==
It was named the minister of defense and aviation (Arabic:وزارة الدفاع والطيران) which was originally founded on 10 November 1943.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/gulf/rslf-history.htm )〕 But after the death of Saudi Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on 22 October 2011, the Saudi government decided to change its name to the ministry of defense after the appointment of former governor of Riyadh Salman bin Abdulaziz to the post. Prince Salman became the king of Saudi Arabia on 23 January 2015 and Prince Mohammad was appointed defense minister.
